I suspect many spammers treat "unsubscribe" as "someone is actively using that address". Unsubscribe has, however, worked for me with firebaseapp emails. Google closes accounts for individual users who violate their terms of service. I never see firebase SPAM on my Google account, but I have a "Community Net" email account that dates back to when Canada got internet. That account gets tens of SPAM mails a day. It started when the SGI used gear reseller I used went out of business -- don't know if they sold their client list or someone found it on a recycled hard drive. There was a recent jump when I was involved in discussions with a long list of users -- suspect one of their systems was hacked. -- George N. White III
