Barry,

Thank you for responding to this query. It's DEFINITELY APPRECIATED.

Yes. The bug is readily re-creatable.

It happens during a backup operation. This happens via a script that does the
work so it's reproducible. I have multiple ext4 partitions in this system
(Vevobook S16)  and backup each partition separately into a 24 TB external
drive (one big btrfs partition) with tar and zstd (both a local build AND the
distribution versions. Both panic'd the system... in the same spot). I
frequently run "btrfs check /dev/sda1". This reported no errors found.

At first I thought it was a file system corruption issue with
/var so I copied that partition... removed all the files after verifying that
the files DID get copied correctly without errors (they did). If I do this
again, I'll do a copy and then a mke2fs on the partition. I copied the files
back and immediately rebooted the system... and retried the backup, which,
again, failed with a panic.

I'll create a bug report and give what they suggest a try... and will report
back here.

Again, thanks for responding.

Best regards,

George...

Can you reproduce the crash?
