I've checked the lsusb output again and it doesn't list the
device (at least by chipid) but "inxi -Nzxx" does list the
device in terms of the device with chipid 14c3:6639 that it
shows appears to be an MT7927 device, and that device appears
to not have not driver. It shows the driver as N/A. The GITHUB
hit I got on a search of the chipid indicated that Mediatek
have been very slow in developing a Linux driver for the MT7927
chipset, which the article is saying is unusual for Mediatek,
as they normally have Linux drivers well before product
availability, so I guess I'll just have to wait until the 6.18
kernel becomes available.
You should try the 6.18 test kernels:
There should be 6.18 kernels available after the test period, but
if your MT7927doesn't work you want to report that ASAP.

Thanks George, I'll check that out. I did check the Fedora Test
repository but it didn't have the 6.18 kernels
The instructions at the link for test week tell you to use Koji to
download the kernel packages.
I've followed the instructions to download and install the kernel and
booted from it, but it didn't work, so I've raised a bug report.
The akmods compile of the nvidia driver fails from the 6.18 kernel and
the kde desktop doesn't load either even if I change the kernel grub
parameters to remove the blacklisting of Nouveau. I may need to supply
more information to the report, but I'll see what happens.
I forgot to mention that the MT7927 chipset driver doesn't appear to be
in the kernel.
