I raised this once before with no resolution.
It used to be that when a monitor is unplugged (or the KVM is switched away)
it comes back when plugged.
For the last few months this does not happen. Specifically, running
$ xrandr --listmonitors
says
Monitors: 0
This is done in an xterm screen. Naturally, it is typed blind and seen later.
I can switch to vt2 (text terminal) which is visible, then switch to vt1 (X)
which stays blank.
I can fix this by running
$ xrandr --display :0 --output HDMI-1 --mode 3840x2160
(yes, I have a script for this now)
Maybe this is not a fedora issue but some recent change with X?
Is there an xorg setting to tell it to activate when a connection is detected?
It was the case when I still used the 'intel' driver, and still after switching
to 'modesetting'
TIA
