Opening any pdf file, clicking on the size drop-down (the one at the top right,
e.g. 75%) exits the desktop
and I need to log in again.
This happened to me today for the first time.
I ran 'evince' to view a pdf file, started OK, then clicked the drop down and
was logged out. Not just evince exiting.
As if X was killed (I still run Xorg). No oops in the system log. See log below
for X crash.
The same evince version on another f42 machine (a VM) works OK.

Looking at 'messages' I see at that second:

Followed by many messages of things shutting down and a new login starting. I
can post if it helps.
