If the connector with print you can't read is similar in size to a mobile phone charge port, then it's probably USB-C. However, 12 years old it's probably not that. Most likely if its not DVI, not VGA, not a mini-HDMI, and your PC is not a Mac, it's a DisplayPort. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort has pictures of DP connector types. A standard size DP connector is slightly wider and similar in thickness to standard HDMI. Inexpensive passive adapters are available to convert DP output ports to HDMI, DVI and VGA, but not the other way around. DP outputs that aren't too old can be split or chained, so that a single computer output can provide output to up to something like 8 or 9 displays. -- Evolution as taught in public schools is, like religion, based on faith, not based on science.
