I moved the ethernet cable to my windows box.  windows reports the following;
IPv6 address:    2001:558:6040:48:787f:8998:f490:f5d3
Link-local IPv6 address:    fe80::805:cbe5:bc94:2edd%2
IPv4 address:    73.181.52.211

"ip addr" assuming your modem is bridged.
You can also type "what is my ip" in Google.

google reports "174.63.84.38".

That's really strange.  I don't know how you can get 3 different addresses like that.  But I do see that you have a public IPv6 address and that is being used.

Why do you need to know the address?

I don't think I need those addresses, but I thought knowing them would help answer previous questions in this thread, like George's(?) (ip4 vs. ip6).

Yeah, the results seem strange to me, too. But I'm no expert.
