**NORMALLY** I go to Lenovo's support pages for bios updates, download
the ISO image boot and update.
I have done this on x120e and x140e that I have.
But the one I downloaded for the x131e is NOT working!
I may have the bios update function currently locked. Will have to check.
Oh, and years past I have done this for HP notebooks. It IS scary. Do
you REALLY want to update the bios firmware you are asked? Like
really??? :)

"spying" on the thread!
Would you mind detailing your process of updating the bios? (I know,
I could look it up, but I'm curious, as I've never done a bios/update.
Would be cool to have this data!
thanks

Good point. I *normally* do that on a system from ebay. Getting the
latest right now.
