I suggest you follow this recommendation. I suspect part of your upgrade/downgrade led to some DB files being out of date. Clearing those DB files is fine if you’re not using network authentication (Kerberos, Active Directory, etc) or you don’t have cache credentials turn on. I used to mount that directory as a tmpfs filesystem on servers with hundreds of logins to speed it up, so it cleared it every reboot.
