I had tried various other filing systems in the past, but both sides
have to support it well.  Sometimes you'd find both sides could read
something okay, but messed up when creating files in a way that
required a disc repair (that didn't always work) on the other side.

I can't recall having problems with EXFAT, and it's often the format
that blank media comes preformatted with (SD cards, USB drives, etc). 
It was more a case of wondering if that was the best option.
