It works for me, but I recall that in the past (several years ago I
think) it sometimes didn't because some app (qbittorrent IIRC) had
inhibited shutdown and would pop up a message about it. I'm not sure
what would happen if it was an app with no GUI. Maybe check the
journal.

Unfortunately I don't remember what I did to correct this, except that
I did do "something". I may even have asked about it here on the list.
