XPS 8940/0K3CM7, BIOS 2.4.0 12/08/2021 You appear to be missing multiple "critical" updates: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/xps-8940-desktop/drive You should be able to install the updates by booting with nomodeset and using fwupdtool (see fwupdtool --help).
