Yeah, this has been one of those troubled applets :/ Erik, which was the last build you tried? I think it is worth re-visiting this issue -- Fedora now ships with a newer plugin. The upcoming update fixes a lot of issues, and I'd be happy to give you a scratch build if the current Fedora version is still non-functional..
