I have a similar adapter:

        Bus 001 Device 006: ID 2357:012d TP-Link Archer T3U [Realtek RTL8812BU]

Indeed it's annoying to keep it up to date.
I do it every kernel update cloning "...github.com/morrownr/88x2bu-20210702" and
re-installing the driver,
The 'dkms' installation script works fine,
