During a job search, I seem to have clicked on the wrong button.
Now I have rather frequent popup notifacations.
I'd like to get rid of them.

How do I selectively get rid of these notifications?

But the notifications are not coming from Gnome, right? Anything can send notifications to Gnome and it will display then as you describe.

You can enable notifications for certain webpages in a browser and these will appear in your Gnome notifications. So when you were doing your job search (I assume in a browser) you might have had an 'Enable notifications' dialogue that you accidentally enabled. You can disable these notifications from the browser.

Found it: firefox, settings, privacy and security, notifications, settings

Thanks.
