I don't think NVidia drivers can be eradicated so easily. NVidia provides
instructions for their installation, which include instructions for their 
removal.
If removal instructions aren't followed, the library tainting they cause and/or
.conf files they create can remain, thus thwarting any attempt to use any
competent FOSS driver. This is an example of what should be seen running F36 on 
an
old NVidia GPU using only FOSS:

Note that the X display driver is modesetting, not the reverse-engineered,
"experimental", optional nouveau provided by xorg-x11-drv-nouveau.
