Thanks Roger, that worked to add libraries. I added a few that mount needed, hoping that dracut would then find the root partition, mount it, and the kernel would find the rest in the system files. But, it was not to be, still hung on boot. Since there are about 80 libraries that are in the initramfs' that boot that aren't in the initramfs' that don't boot, I'll script it. Fortunately, the install_optional_items option can be repeated. For any one reading this in the future, I used the full path to the libraries and links. dracut copied or created the links correctly. I'm not sure the path is necessary, since executables can be added as just the name.
