I'm using CentOS 7 on an Asus Eee PC 701. RHEL 7 doesn't have an
i686 version but CentOS supports it as an altarch.

Advantages:

- it has all that familiar Red Hat goodness;

- unlike CentOS 8 it'll be supported until RHEL 7 EOL, so another
  two years.
