I'm starting to think that my copy of gnome might be broken.
I have two files wtf.desktop and vicious.desktop
that are identical except for the Name field.
vicious.desktop shows up and wtf.desktop does not.
If I use mv to exchange the files,
vicious.desktop shows up and wtf.desktop does not.
I have to restart gnome for this to happen.
Also, I have to make alarm.sh owned by root for vicious.desktop to show.
Might gnome maintain a list of broken .dekstop
files that grows and never shrinks?
The column of icons mentioned in a previous post
now includes an icon for every window I have open.
Makes for a narrow column.
