You could try starting firefox using /usr/bin/firefox --new-instance --ProfileManager When the profile manager comes up, create a new profile to use so that it has no information from your current user. You can also try going to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel/desktop/#nightly and downloading and unpacking the latest nightly development version. Again, start it right from the unpack directory, using ./firefox --new-instance --ProfileManager with a new profile. Is the problem gone? If it is, you could then look through the preferences and the about:config for any differences between the two. If it isn't, In either case, does it still have the problem?
