Reliable troubleshooting would start with a very expensive USB test setup
to verify that the keyboard is working properly.  At work, when some
mouse, keyboard, display, etc. caused trouble, we would swap the suspect
component with one that was working to see if the problem moved with the
component.  Maybe you could lend the keyboard to a friend for a test.
