That's what I don't get. Clearly you must be using the Nvidia GPU if
it's the only one you have, so why can't nvidia-settings find it,
especially as it does find it when under Gnome/Wayland?

Anyway, clearly Plasma/Wayland is not entirely trouble-free yet. Will
probably just have to wait.
