It is version 3. 

Also I now notices that after a reboot there was this message in the
logs

kernel: lockd: server 192.168.1.101 not responding, still trying

right before the first message of this kind

kernel: xs_tcp_setup_socket: connect returned unhandled error -107

But as I said the nfs shares seem to work fine, I can read and write to
files on them.
