Yes, OBS has trouble with Wayland.
I have solved this problem by doing the following few steps. $ sudo nano /etc/gdm/custom.conf Uncommment the following line. #WaylandEnable=false Save the file. Reboot your laptop.
The easier solution is to pick "Gnome on Xorg" from the desktop selection. After you click on your name on the login screen and before you enter your password, there's a little gear icon at the bottom-right of the screen. Click on that to change the desktop.
