It's really not a good idea to go changing the subject lines of emails,
especially to a mailing list, unless you are intending to branch off a
thread.

i.e. Making something not quite related to the origins of the thread,
yet still a follow-on of the prior message.

Threading headers co-relate one message with another, but changing the
subject line indicates a reason not to thread a message in with
everything else.
