i don't know about your specific problem, but it broke(filed to start complaining of version mismatch) recently for me as well, but my issue seems to have to do with having the tor-browser auto-update feature activated. I reinstalled torbrowser-launcher and disabled tor browser auto-update in the browser settings, and so far, so good, though this is not a long term solution, obviously.
