Not knowledgeable about printing, but my understanding is that
documents are converted into a special language that the printer
understands.  That is, the printer doesn't know anything about fonts.
It is more likely that the font in question has changed its
configuration; there was an initiative to retire old font formats and
convert them to a new one.  You should open a bugzilla against the font
that is not working.
