An army of people equally ignorant has come to his defense. The "wisdom of crowds?" Suppose you took a vote at your high school as to the value of pi? At the university I attended, no one would have fallen for it. At my high school, I'm not even confident as to how my home room section (probably the brightest people in a city of a million) would have responded. Ignorance is everywhere.
