Going further off topic, you can disable the silly urlbar changes.

Settings (need to be set to false) are:
browser.urlbar.update1
browser.urlbar.update1.interventions
browser.urlbar.update1.searchTips


browser.urlbar.update1.view.stripHttps if you want to see when you're on an 
HTTPS URL beyond the "lock" icon.
