Not really OT since it is a question about usage of utilities under fedora.
I'm sure there are command line options. However, I've been using HandBrake
from rpmfusion quite
a bit to add Chinese subtitles to movies for friends and family.
One of the options when doing this is in the audio area to up the gain. I've
used this option and it has
served me well.
If you have to increase the gain significantly, the SSN--signal to noise ratio--is likely to take a beating. Try it and
