No switch.

Can't remember the date/time of last use :-(

Earlier kernel (5.5.5-200.fc31) and the F31 live system also don't see the 
camera.

I guess it might be a hardware problem between body and display.
My way out is to use an external USB camera which I have.
Case closed for now.
