I believe that starting with the installed of Fedora Workstation F30 the root 
account is
created but disabled.  There is no root password.

So, you have to login to the system with the account you've designated as an 
administrator
and then give it a password.  I think, based on what you've said, that account 
is pdupre.

So.....

ssh pdupre@whateverhost

then

sudo passwd root
