You HAVE a realistic alternative EVERYTIME cause as an unemployed you have a lot of time. But - for my taste - you need to get rid of your "uncertainness" (my impression) and to allow yourself to make mistakes and maybe break your box. It's just a machine ! keep an install-DVD handy for that case !
