Run the test for about an hour. Do You have swap partition? Disable it, 8 gigs is more than enough for Fedora desktop. If You need swap sometimes for some huge applications, try to set lower swappiness. It's 60 by default, but You can temporary set it to 10: sysctl vm.swappiness=10 Lauch several Firefox windows, or other heavy aplications and see it that helped. Also, check temperature of You system with lm_sensors. It is, not likely, but remotely possible, that new ram is overheating for some reason and a heat spreads out on motherboard and cpu. And get SSD drive :) .
