Just a bit of info. If you right click on one of the list of applications you'd see "Remove Launcher" grayed out. That is because the files being referenced are *desktop files in /usr/share/applications. Some may seem to be duplicates but really are not. The Name in the *desktop file is duplicated but the exec in the file is not. An example of this is org.freedesktop.IBus.Panel.Emojier.desktop and org.freedesktop.IBus.Panel.Extension.Gtk3.desktop.
