I'm pretty sure those have been superseded by "libinput" especially when using 
Gnome and
Wayland.

From the man page...

DESCRIPTION
       libinput  is a library to handle input devices and provides device detec‐
       tion and input device event processing for most Wayland  compositors  and
       the X.Org xf86-input-libinput driver.
