The logfiles show nothing. There are no error messages. The network
simply says "no route to host".

Yesterday I noted that the contents of /etc/resolv.conf seemed wrong.
When I fixed this manually, the network came back up.

When I rebooted the host this morning (to the latest kernel), the guest
network was down again. This time I can't even ping the host's IP
address so editing /etc/resolv.conf solves nothing.
