Thoughts: - external disk formated with fat32 => movie file > 4 GB ? - try rsync ? - try to move away the movie file from the disk under windoof. copy it back and try again under fedora => does the same file make problems ?
Why do you need a usb adapter ? Is the disk without enclosure (USB3 Interface) ?
