As far as I know, attachments are not forbidden but really long ones are severely frowned upon. For big ones, it's better to use pastebin and include a link in your message. However, I'm including a (short) text attachment (using Thunderbird) just to test things. Not sure why your messages didn't make it to the list...make sure that if you click "Reply", the "To" part of the header is aimed at users@lists.fedoraproject.org.
