It should have.  I assume that the plymouth script runs dracut. However, I have tried changing the plymouth boot theme myself a couple of times and I don't think I've had any success.

That seems odd, but then I'm not alone. On this Fedora 27 it doesn't work, while on the new one I've  configured as an NFS server it does work and I tried several Plymouth themes, they worked without a problem. Of course the server doesn't really matter since it will normally be without a display.

Both computers are configured similarly with XFCE.

I just figured I'll put the "tribar" on this workstation system and at have some measure of progress rather than a spinning symbol. Incidentally, it changed from a sort of rotating wheel to a rotating worm in a circle as best I can describe them after running dracut --force. But it never brings up the tribar theme set with the Plymouth command?
