I have reinstalled xsane. Everything but the image save function works fine. xsane produces a good image but when I try to save it, the resulting image is compressed laterally with the remaining width blacked out. This is repeatable and I have seen references to the problem in the various forums, but no solutions. Before I slog off on a conquest, does anyone have the very probably simple solution to this problem. TIA.
