Yes, the Apple Store provided an app.,
"Simple Transfer" for the purpose which
offers a wifi connection via Firefox
here, sends the the jpeg files as one
.zip file. It works well enough but
gphoto2 is simpler if it would work!
Anyway that problem is worked around for
the present time ...
