They should be 100% compatible. I can plug both USB2 and USB3 devices into those blue "Type-A SuperSpeed" connectors on the front of my PC with no problems at all. What does dmesg show when you plug in a device?

I don/t see any response to plugging in a Sandisk Extreme USB3 flash drive at the USB3 port, USB@ works normally, couldn't find any indication of the USB3 device in dmesg but there's a lot there and I might have missed it.

Perhaps thereis something in the bios setup that needs to be done to enable those ports but I would expect them to be enabled by default and just work ...
I looked at the Wiki site that was mentioned earlier, and it says that it should not be difficult to plug in a usb plug, and you have indicated that it was difficult--I assume mean you forced it. I would suggest you contact the dealer who sold you the board and ask him what kind of adapter you need. If the dealer doesn't know what kind of adapter you need, I think you should ask him to take back the board and replace it with one that has common connectors, as well as whatever specifications you need for a board for your machine. There was one line in the link that mentioned adapter cables, but since I don't know (and you don't know) what you need to adapt to, it didn't answer any question. It would seem, at any rate, that you should have the "blue" connectors, and if you don't that should be enough excuse to make the dealer replace the board.
