For mine I have to use:

intel_panel_fitter -p A -x 1246 -y 686

IIRC, I had to install a package to get the intel_panel_fitter program -
not sure if it useful if you don't have Intel graphics.

(I'll have to see if I can rename the HDMI port - my HDTV already has a PC
port for the VGA connector....)
