Before you commit to buying the WAP, however, I'd go get the Linux Controller software and make sure it runs on Fedora. Can't see why it wouldn't, but I've been around long enough (and then some) that I don't trust, just verify.
The android app should suffice these days. I setup the controller because the app wasn't as full-featured when I got my unifi, but I did use the app to do a basic setup first.
Packaging the unifi for fedora isn't all that bad. I made a basic package, but I never got around to adding an init script or systemd support. I just start the app manually when I need it.

I run it like so: cd /usr/share/unifi && sudo -u unifi java -jar /usr/share/unifi/lib/ace.jar startAlso worth noting is that version 5.x is now out. I didn't update to that immediately. I'd rather wait until it's been around a bit longer and I have some need of the new features.
