Reminds of those dopey buttons on modern video games.  You're supposed
to remember special functions assigned to buttons with triangles and
squares, or different colours.  No logic to them.

I'm not surprised by this, seems like all major software houses are
going down the route of only allowing signed/authorised packages, to try
and put an end to malware (of which there's scads of).

Anti-virus, and other anti-malware, does not work.  There's plenty of
evidence of that.  People don't install it, don't run it, don't update
it, ignore its warnings, and install dodgy crap by themselves (whether
by carelessness or stupidity - such as piracy-related hackware).  About
the only way to stop the clueless is make it next to impossible to
install something that hasn't been (allegedly) vetted before release.
