I've been trying for two days to get a samba server working. I think I have the configuration correct in comparing it with what I did before which had been working. This is a new Fedora 24 installation, updated.

I can/t mount the server from this computer, it had been working without a hitch into the same server address.

/etc/fstab is:
//192.168.1.48/smbBOX48 /mnt/box48/ cifs defaults,password=mysmbpwd 0 0

The mount fails thus:
[root@Box10 bobg]# mount //192.168.1.48/smbBOX48       /mnt/box48/
Password for bobg@//192.168.1.48/smbBOX48: ********
mount error(13): Permission denied
Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)

I guess I don't understand "man mount.cifs" because I don't see what needs to be fixed, not sure if it's the client or the server, although the client has not changed.

Any help will be appreciated.

Bob
