You'll need to research "xinput" and "libinput" See this from the archives concerning how to enable/disable the touchpad using "xinput" https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/users@lists.fedoraproject.org/message/W32B3CERZ75ISG3KVOYNBWVATFBYTMQL/ And, FWIW, I use xinput --set-prop 14 "libinput Tapping Enabled" 1 to enable tapping on my Acer's touchpad.
