Yes I ran the command yesterday and have re-booted several times since,
usually shut this computer down at night.
[bobg@Box10 ~]$ e2label /dev/sdd1
e2label: Permission denied while trying to open /dev/sdd1

[root@Box10 bobg]# e2label /dev/sdd1

Nothing, perhaps it does not survive a re-boot?
