You beat me to it.  Also, some browsers have a use hardware acceleration
option, that may be best on or off, depending on your hardware.

For me, the smooth option did give a smooth, but very slow scroll.  It
was like trying to slide something that's stuck to ice.  Terrible for
when you need to skim through a page to find something, or when your
reading speed is much faster than the scroll.
